Alexander Technique Sessions
Anyone of any age can learn the Alexander Technique and experience the benefits. During an Alexander Technique session you will learn how to improve your posture, enhance your mobility and increase your overall well-being

What happens in a session?
Alexander Technique teachers use gentle hands on guidance and verbal instructions to help you to recognise unhelpful patterns of tension in your body and behavioural habits that can lead to a distorted body alignment, overuse of muscles and unnecessary restrictions in movement. A body which is out of alignment creates physical, mental and emotional imbalances which can lead to physical pain, stress and anxiety.

Table and chair work are commonly used in Alexander Technique sessions to explore and refine movement patterns and body awareness.

Table & chair work
You will lie on a table, usually on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the table. The teacher will use gentle touch and hands-on guidance to help you release tension and find more optimal alignment. They will gently support & move specific body parts, such as your head, neck, limbs, or torso, encouraging freedom and ease of movement.

In chair work, the teacher will guide you in sitting on a chair, paying attention to your posture and alignment. They will provide gentle support or adjustments to your head, neck, back, or shoulders, encouraging freedom and ease of movement.

Table and chair work in Alexander Technique sessions provide a supportive environment to explore and refine movement patterns and body awareness in specific positions. By bringing attention to these everyday activities, you can develop greater mindfulness, release tension, and improve overall posture and coordination.
